Cook a romantic dinner.  Fancy restaurants are all good and well, but a homemade meal is so much more meaningful.

Take a romantic walk.  We are blessed here in South Africa with fantastic botanical gardens, wine estates, nature reserves and beaches.  Put on your walking shoes, pack a picnic and enjoy the great outdoors with your loved one!

Make your own box of chocolates or food basket.  There’s nothing worse than receiving a box of chocolates and realizing you either don’t like or are allergic to half the flavours.  Anna offers a few simple recipes for making your own chocolates.  Alternatively, pick and choose your loved one’s favourite foods from your local grocery store and present them in a thoughtful gift basket.

Have a romantic movie night.  Sometimes true love isn’t about spectacle and panache – it’s about a cozy night in, snuggling on the couch and eating popcorn.
