The SANA (South African Nursery Association) convention in Strand was a great successs! Well done to the nurseries and suppliers that received awards! Keep up your high standards, we’re very proud of you all!
Tanya Visser het ‘n inspirerende praatjie vir ons voorgelê. Sy het ons uitgedaag om ongeveer een goeie ideë van haar gesprek in aksie te stel. Sy het ons ook gewys hoe om die “Life is a Garden” webwerf beter te gebruik.

Mother’s Day is coming up soon (Sunday, 13th May). How about choosing a beautiful flowering shrub for those special ladies in your life? We have a colourful range of potted plants available: Impatiens Celebrette, Zonal Geraniums, Begonia’s and Coleus. Or if you prefer longer-lasting varieties, we stock Iceberg roses, Camellia’s, Azaleas and Hibiscus, to name but a few.

Nonke Plants sets the standard

Moedersdag is net om die draai (13de Mei). Ons het baie mooi standaard rose beskikbaar wat pragtige geskenke maak. Iceberg is ‘n blomryke bosroos me trosse wit blomme. Simplicity is pienk en Satchmo is rooi.

 

Hierdie rose moet nie naby die wortelstelsels van bome of struike geplant word nie en vereis goeie grond, vol son en voldoende water. Hulle moet ook gereeld gesnoei word en, indien nodig, teen insekte of ander peste bespuit word. Hierdie drie soorte roos is van die maklikste rosa sp. om in jou tuin te groei.

Charity work in Mitchell's Plain

Ons lede van die Nonke plant span, Tiffany en Salie, het ‘n donasie van bome aan Mitchells Plain School of Skills gegee. Hulle het ook die leerlinge gewys hoe om die bome te plant en te versorg. Dit was ‘n heerlike ondervinding om saam met die leerlinge om te gaan en saam met hulle te kan werk en leer.  Dit is altyd ‘n voorreg vir die Nonke Plants span om ‘n goeie daad te doen en terug te gee aan die gemeenskap.  Ons sien uit om die ontwikkeling van die Mitchell’s Plain School of Skills se tuine te sien.

Gallivanting with Nonke Plants

It is always fun and beneficial to visit botanical gardens or estates for inspiration when planning your own garden. We visited Pearl Valley Golf Estate and were awed by the beauty and variety of the gardens! Located in a windy, sandy valley outside Paarl, the landscapers promote indigenous fynbos as being “tough enough to handle these conditions”.
